The city has a population of about 86,000 and a diverse economic base. The city services a trading area of approximately 160,0000. The main industries in Kamloops are Agriculture, forestry/wood products, and mining. The economy of Kamloops is becoming diversified as secondary manufacturing and high tech companies are looking for better quality of life and more affordable housing for their employees, not to mention the availability of affordable industrial land.
The city is framed by rolling uplands of mixed forests & grasslands, and is picturesquely located at the junction of the North and the South Thompson Rivers. Recreational activities abound in the area. Hunting, fishing, and nature activities are within 15 minutes of the city while Sun Peaks Resort nearby boasts some of the best powder skiing in Canada and offers excellent Alpine and Nordic Skiing.
Kamloops has been a ranching community since the nineteenth century, ranching is an integral part of the lifestyle of many residents today. Some of the historic ranches in the region include Quilchena, Douglas Lake Cattle Company, and Harper.
Shuswap
Just a 30-minute boat ride from the property, is Shuswap Lake, the heart of the Shuswap Region of BC.
The Shuswap Region is located in the southern interior of BC. This region stretches from Chase to Salmon Arm and Enderby in the south and north to Seymour Arm. Shuswap Lake is located in the heart of the Shuswap region of BC. It is named after the Shuswap Indians, an Interior Salish tribe who ranged from west of the Fraser River, east to the Columbia River, and from north of McBride to south of Kamloops.
Shuswap Lake is shaped like an H and is made up of four large arms: the Shuswap Lake Main Arm, Salmon Arm, Anstey Arm, and Seymour Arm. It is a popular destination for recreation enthusiasts. It offers more than 1,000 kilometers of shoreline great for fishing, water sports and boating. In the winter, it hosts some of the best snowmobiling in the province at Crowfoot Mountain. With sunny warm summers and pristine beauty, this area is a popular house boating area, and boasts the largest houseboat fleet in Canada. It is one of the most popular vacation destinations in BC.
Other Areas
Just 1 hour away from the property is the beginning of the popular Okanagan region of BC. The Okanagan region is located in southern British Columbia, Canada and is one of the warmest regions in all of Canada. It is the oldest and most productive wine growing region in the province. Its arid climate and naturally terraced landscape make it ideal for the production of wines. It is also a prime fruit growing areas surrounded by beautiful lakes making it a desirable location for year around outdoor fun.

Voted one of the top cities in the world to live, it is an easy drive from this property to Vancouver along the Coquihalla highway.
