Riverfront
This estate home is situated on the shores of the South Thompson River and has over 500 ft of sandy frontage on the river. 3 pilings are installed in the river, which is used to anchor a 20ft fiberglass dock.
The dock area is accessed by Allen Block stairs leading to a river rock landscaped lounge area. This sitting area is perfect for enjoying the incredible views or soaking up the sun. A boat launch area is located approximately
500 m from the home.
The South Thompson River flows westward from Little Shuswap Lake, passing the town of Chase before meeting the North Thompson at Kamloops and it is a popular spot for fishing and water activities including boating, water skiing, kayaking and canoeing and wakeboarding. The river is slow moving and is a major migration corridor for Chinook, Sockeye, Coho and Pink Salmon.
The calm waters of the South Thompson River provide excellent habitat for waterfowl and various
breeding birds. It is home to an abundance of Osprey, four different types of Bald Eagles, Wood Ducks and Lewis' Woodpeckers and during the winter months you will see Trumpeter Swans.
During low water levels, the river is approximately 100 m wide and flows down a gentle gradient (1 m per 10 km) through a relatively broad valley. The valley bottom is about 1 km wide, with rounded hills on either side, and in many cases bounded by 50m high silt bluffs.
